Craft time
So the time has finally rolled around for me to attempt some more DIY for this wedding.Yeah, I know.
But this time, it's with the help of Liz (right, ribbon shopping). And this time it involes slapping some details on a paper mache cake box (you know, those things you drop the cards into.) Seems simple enough.
Doesn't it always.
So on Wednesday we took a ride to AC Moore to pick up some ribbon, paint and flowers to decorate said box. I have to admit, with all the things that have to be micromanaged, I was looking forward to working on something where it doesn't matter if I "f" it up. I went in to AC Moore ready to have some fun.
Then Liz got me micromanaging the cake box.
"Does this ribbon match your colors?"
"Um, I'm not sure. No big deal."
But then I looked closer. It didn't match. It was a different tone. The puffy paint we found was also not a proper match. And I couldn't find the fake brown flowers that I had spotted in someone's photos online.
And suddenly, I cared.
I swore I would never let that happen to me. That I would never freak out because I didn't have, well, the proper tone of ribbon around my cake card box.
Ech.
I saw it happening, and I immediately changed gears. I bought what we found and was done with it. Got a glue gun too, which I am really looking forward to using (the SBP knows how scary that is).
So, to be continued when we unpack the cake box. Me, a bridezilla? Never.
