Hair you go
Oh man. I'm just no good at this.
I always freak out when I get my hair done in a fancy updo. Something about piling a chunk of thick hairsprayed curls on top of my head just doesn't feel natural.
But I have to say, Joan, my mom's good friend and hairdresser, did a great job. I'm still a little freaked out, but she assures me everything will be fine. So I believe her.
Makeup with another of my mom's friends (a makeup artist) was also nerve wracking. The last time someone "did" my makeup, it was when I was in the Nutcracker in the 7th grade. Had a little episode where I was poked with some eyeliner. It didn't end
well.
But, this all looks very natural. It just, well, feels a bit war painty.
I went home and stared at myself in the mirror.
"I'm not sure about this," I said to Ed. "I kinda feel like a high priced prostitute."
"I wouldn't say high priced," he replied. Men.
But, I decided to leave the look for when I went out with the Bridemaids Kim Saturday night in downtown Princeton. I pulled the thick goopy hairsprayed curls into a stiff ponytail, and left the makeup as is.
I made Kim promise not to laugh. She said she liked it. I leaned into the back seat and asked John if he was looking for a good time. He was, but not from me.
All joking aside, I do like the look. Just not used to wearing so much makeup. But if I want to avoid looking pastey in every picture, this is necessary. So, I submit to being painted.
And yes, there are better photos, but this is all you get.
