Jess' turn for showers

"MY TEA KETTLE!!! AHHHHHH!!!!"

I can't remember ever hearing Jess scream this much.

She screamed when she walked in. She screamed at each table of guests she noticed. She screamed when she saw her pile of gifts.

Yes, it was (unmistakeably) Jess' surprise bridal shower on Saturday. And Jess wins the award for most-amped-up-bride-to-be-ever by pure default.

Being a recent recipient of this treatment myself, it was really cute to watch someone else go through it and be genuinely shocked, just like I was. Hey, that's a damn rare thing these days.

I had my camera at the ready, to take every picture that no one took for me and I wished I had.

The shower was at Due Amici in Voorhees, a cute little Italian restaurant near the Echelon Mall. It was, I have to say, everything I know Jess would want it to be.

Everything was done in Jess' wedding colors - pink and chocolate brown. Stars were incorporated into everything - even the pink and brown centerpieces made by her mom (which looked very nice on my kitchen table by the way). Adorable pink and brown favors - "mint to be" - with breath mints inside. And a Chinese aution of gifts for the guests - I'll let you guess the colors of those. I walked away with a cool vibrating back massager shaped like a doggie. Which is cool, because as you all know I never win anything - that's why I collect losing game pieces (I like irony).

But I digress.

And then there was the opening of the gifts. More screams.

"OH MY GOD!!!! MY PYREX!! AHHHH!!!!"

Jess kept everyone laughing.
